We spent a week over the New Year 23/24 in Mountain Chalet and can absolutely recommend this place, especially for a large group. We comprised of 3 separate families, a total of 13 individuals and found the chalet very spacious, never queuing for toilets, showers etc. We opted for self catering, so sometimes we had 3 separate families wanting to cook, but the kitchen size was fine as we just staggered the time in the kitchen. Everything you need to prepare your own food is available. The Sauna and Jacuzzi were used every day and I loved the small, but perfectly useable bath, that helped soak away the tiredness, some evenings. The location, for me was ideal, away from numerous other chalets, but walkable to the town. This is either up a steep, but doable track or the long leisurely way around, which we did back down to the chalet most evenings. To be fair we only walked up to the town on one day as we took total advantage of the Free Bus, which you can see coming up the hill from the chalet balcony, reducing waiting time at the bus stop. Also as this is one of the first stops up, we always got a seat. We had issues arriving in France, due to weather and ultimately this resulted in us arriving at the chalet many hours after we had originally arranged, but this was no issue and Tim's communication at this worrying time and all through the whole booking was reactive, positive and helpful. If we were to go again as a large group, I would not even begin to look elsewhere.

This was the third time I have visited Mountain Chalet and it's just as nice as I remembered. The view from the balcony will never get old. We went for the catered option and all the food we had was lovely, and the afternoon cakes were a treat after a days skiing.
As always the chalet was clean, tidy and very easy to check in and out. The new ski lift in Huez has made this place even better as you can pretty much ski from the doorstep.
I will definitely be returning next year.

Had an awesome week staying at mountain chalet in Feb 2023. Uninterrupted views of the mountains and valley below, amazing hot tub and a great chalet to unwind, socialise and relax. Huge thank you to our hosts - Tim and Sara.
The catered food was plentiful and really good. Thoroughly enjoyed our week…counted down the days until we return!

Would 100% recommend this to anyone looking to stay in Alpe D’Huez. We have just returned from a weeks stay here. The views from the balcony and the hot tub are breathtaking. The chalet itself is very spacious with a huge dining table for those all important post ski meals and drinks. There is everything you could possibly want in the chalet, including hot tub, sauna, boot dryers and sky TV. The location is very handy for the slopes. We opted for the catered option which gave us breakfast, cakes for after skiing and an evening meal as well as wine. The food was delicious. There were only 7 of us but we probably had enough food for 14. In terms of booking, it was very easy with any questions very quickly answered by the owners, who were also happy to offer advice on anything ranging from airport transfers to the best time of day to ski Le Tunnel. We have just returned from a stay at Mountain Chalet following an amazing week in Alpe d'huez. The chalet is superb with some breathtaking views of the mountains. The rooms are modern, spacious and comfortable - the hot tub is a welcomed bonus after a day skiing too. The chalet itself is located very close to a bus stop (free bus) on the main route into the village centre and is close to local chops for daily essentials. We opted for in house catering which was fantastic - a range of meals suitable for everyones tastes. We had an amazing time at the chalet and would certainly recommend this to anyone visiting the resort.
