Souhaitant prendre quelques jours de repos en ce début d'année, j'ai tenté de faire une réservation de 2 chambres pour une semaine au Chalet Chovettaz, sur la base de très bonnes critiques. ||J'ai d'abord eu beaucoup de mal à les contacter, ça aurait dû me mettre la puce à l'oreille. Au prix de quelques coups de fils, j'obtiens les disponibilités. Je souhaitais bénéficier de la demi pension car maman d'un bébé, je ne souhaitais pas bouger le soir. Sur une semaine, la demi pension n'était possible que 4 soirs. Soit j'accepte. On m'envoie le document à remplir pour la réservation. Je demande l'IBAN pour envoyer l'acompte en même temps. On me répond par email qu'on m'envoie tout cela dans la soirée, qu'il n'y a pas d'inquiétude à avoir, "que je suis inscrite sur le planning." Je prends mes billets de train. Puis Rien. 10 jours plus tard je relance en envoyant le document de réservation. Pas de réponse. J'appelle . rien. Je relance début janvier par mail. rien. Pas de réponse à mes messages sur répondeur. Je me retrouve obligée de chercher en urgence une réservation ailleurs. Bref, je n'ai jamais vu un traitement pareil du client. Je comprends qu'on puisse avoir un problème, ne pas pouvoir assurer une réservation mais dans ce cas on informe le client, on ne l'ignore pas.

superbe !Apres une journée de course sous la pluie,notre arrivée fut un reve:cadre magique,chaleureux,cheminée allumée,brownies etpeits gateaux aux myrtilles..nous avions ,'appartement avec trois chambres douillettes,sdb,et une agréable cuisine.une machine à laver et un sèchoir à disposition..A l'étage,les cheminées,les salons et de magnifiques magazines sont à disposition.tout cela avec l'odeur d'une succulente cuisine .le repas fut très bon.

This brilliant chalet was perfect for our large extended family needs. So so comfortable and so much space, but in addition a home from home feel - roaring fire, comfy sofas, I particularly loved the large and inspiring library of books and DVDs. The kitchen was also brilliantly equipped, with a cavernous fridge!! The downstairs heated boot room was very practical for the morning crush to get out of the house onto the slopes. The hot tub was another favourite for our aching legs in the evening. Easy parking at side of chalet. 10 minute walk into town across bridge with spectacular views of the river flowing down from the mountains - bit of a climb up the other side, but fine. ||The owners were so helpful and hospitable. Can’t recommend this enough.

We stayed with Fiona and Chris while on a walking trip through the Alps. We arrived wet and muddy after being caught in a storm and were immediately attended too. Our wet clothes were taken and washed, we were shown our beautiful room and had a beautiful hot shower (with lovely shower products!) and a pot of hot tea and homemade slice was delivered to our room. It was heaven. ||||Each night we enjoyed a three course meal prepared by Fiona. Fiona is an amazing cook and we also enjoyed some lovely conversations about the area and its history.||||The area around the chalet has amazing hiking opportunities and the village is a short walk across the creek. Fiona had great suggestions for local trails for which we were greatly appreciative of. ||||We would highly recommend Chalet Chovettaz and can't wait to go back again when it's snowing. We had two nights here during a walking trip in the French Alps. It really is a lovely place to stay - great food, tasteful decor and Fiona and Chris are wonderful hosts. The chalet has easy access to numerous walks of all grades in the Les Contamines valley. The scenery is stunning! Fiona and Chris are really knowledgeable about the area and have tempted us to go back by suggesting that next time we should break our stay with a night in a mountain refuge before returning to the comforts of the Chalet!

My husband and I recently spent 3 nights here and had a great time. The location was a little tricky to find, but if you follow the directions carefully, you'll get there. Fiona, Chris, and their daughter all contributed to helping us plan our time in the area. They lent us maps and gave recommendations and directions that were great. One day we drove to La Clusaz to watch the Tour de France go by, which we never would have figured out without their help. Another day, we took a recommended hike that was nearby and gave us great views. (They were right when they said the first 20 minutes makes you wonder if you made the right choice, but then the views make it worth it.) ||||Breakfasts were hearty and tasty. There was granola, yogurt, fruit, and bread out. Then we were offered eggs prepared however we liked. I am allergic to milk and greatly appreciated Fiona's efforts to have soy milk and soy yogurt available for me.||||The room was comfortable. Being American, it seemed a little tight, but compared to other European rooms we stayed in on this trip, it was roomy. We appreciated the little things, like a tray with a kettle to make tea or instant coffee in the room; a small fridge with drinks where we could store some leftover food; and sunscreen by the front door that we could use before hiking.||||I highly recommend this Chalet. Fiona treated us like family in her generosity and interesting conversation, but never made it feel awkward to get up and go do our own thing. (We've stayed at a few B&Bs where this was a problem.)

What an amazing chalet this is, in a fantastic undiscovered location with the best skiing we've ever discovered. This place is an absolute find and is France's best kept secret.||||We took the self catered option and had the use of an entire luxury chalet including an 8 seater outdoor hot tub. The lounge area had a roaring log fire and incredible views over the mountains. The bedrooms with beautifully appointed with large comfy beds and crisp white bedding. Each room has an ensuite bathroom with luxury toiletries. Private parking was right in front of the chalet and there was a massive locker room with a heated boot warmer. Sheer bliss putting on warm boots each morning! After a full morning of superb skiing we loved returning to the chalet and having afternoon tea on the terrace overlooking the mountains.||||The owner recommended a lovely restaurant just up the road which became a firm favourite when we couldn't be bothered to cook.||||Fast wifi and Sky TV for those who couldn't live without their favourite channels.||||We will definitely be back. The chalet and superb skiing made this a fantastic holiday.
